Why people search “webp to png” and “webp to jpg”
WebP is efficient. That is why Chrome, Android shares, and many CDNs serve it by default. The problem is not the format — it is the next tool in your chain. Print shops, older email builders, PowerPoint on a locked-down laptop, and some stock-art forms still expect PNG or JPEG. Saving a WebP from a webpage and discovering it will not attach is a common dead end.
Online converters that ask you to upload the file solve the format problem by creating a privacy problem. Product shots, ID scans, chat screenshots, and unpublished mockups should not ride someone else’s server “for a minute.” WebpUndo exists so the conversion can happen where the file already is.

Photographs headed to a CMS or a form that rejects PNG size. Set quality around 80–90 unless you are chasing a hard kilobyte cap.
Quick answers
Does WebpUndo upload my images to a server?
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser with createImageBitmap and canvas. Files are read locally, decoded on your device, and offered as downloads from memory. Closing the tab clears them. There is no upload API and no account.
How do I convert WebP to PNG?
Open the converter, drop one or more .webp files (or use Choose files), keep PNG checked, and download each PNG or a ZIP of the batch. Transparency is kept because PNG supports an alpha channel.
How do I convert WebP to JPG?
Drop your WebP files, check JPG, set the quality slider (default 85), then download. JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are flattened onto a white background so the photo does not pick up random colors.
Can I convert several WebP files at once?
Yes. The file picker and drop zone accept multiple files. Each valid WebP is converted independently. You can download one file or pack every PNG and JPG into a single ZIP.
What happens if I drop a PNG or JPEG by mistake?
WebpUndo rejects it and shows an error: only .webp files are accepted. The rest of the batch still converts. Rename tricks do not help — a file that is not a real WebP will fail to decode.
Will JPG quality change the PNG as well?
No. The quality slider applies only to JPEG encoding. PNG is lossless: the pixel data from the decoded WebP is written without another quality pass.
